Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer - la crosse, wi

Case Study

Rustic Rose Photography has been in service in the Coulee Region of La Crosse, Wisconsin for almost a decade, but owner Anna's website did not reflect this. Her business is THRIVING, but her website needed some help. Before Trailhead Tech, her website was a free site and template that came with her booking and client gallery subscription.

1. Design
Anna's website had no cohesive design. The free template was mostly white space with a few photos and no real place to put text. or display galleries.  This site didn't reflect her experience or her brand and it just looked empty.
RRP's site had little to no text on most pages, no footer, no real information. Users coming to her site had very little information to go off of if they wanted to work with her. And worse yet, she was ranking on page 9 of Google search results for wedding photographers in the area, laregly because she did not have any targeted text on her website.
RRP's website did not have a sales funnel or any real direction to direct clients in when navigating her website. It was confusing and difficult to figure out what was next.

2. Photography Galleries

And of course, RRP needed a more professional and trustworthy online experience for perspective clients. Adding a new website meant not only could clients navigate from her Facebook, Instagram or business card to a website with more centralized information and photo displays, but that  RRP could then be found on Google with her website and their Google store front.

4. Professional Appearance

RRP needed a way to better inform future clients on her services. We added information on her pricing pages and her home page on what to expect at a wedding or photography session, what to expect after and how to book with RRP.  By doing this, we eliminate confusion and save time so prospective clients are more likely to book once they review RRP's website.

3. Information

RRP needed a space to show off her work. Her old website didn't have galleries to display her beautiful photography , which ultimately is a huge reason of why her clients book her. We have her separate gallery pages for weddings, families, branding sessions for small business and high school seniors so clients weren't wasting time looking at photos that weren't relevant to what they want to buy.

One main goal goal was to convert leads by encouraging them to email RRP.  The website flows from Home, to the Contact page, with room to stop at the Pricing or Portfolio pages in between  using Call to Action buttons throughout. Once clients have gathered enough satisfactory information, the website's intention is to get them to email RRP to book or ask questions.

1. Sales Funnel

Rust Rose Photography's website had a few clear goals in mind.

The design

design colors

Rust Rose's photography is warm, moody, inviting and lived in, so it was essential we chose colors that matched her brand's style. We needed clients to take one glance and RRP's website and know exactly where they were and they were in the right place. We chose basic and iconic black, a warm tan, and three lighter tan colors.
